Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) set the pace in Practice 1 at the Miami Grand Prix, with a best lap of 1:29.310, 0.297s quicker than Max Verstappen. Oscar Piastri was third, 0.448s off the top.

Ferrari, Red Bull Racing and McLaren filled the top of the order, with the top 10 covered by 1.620s and seven drivers within a second of the fastest time.

Eight of the top 10 set their best laps on the soft tyre; Antonelli (hard) did not, which may flatter the drivers ahead of them.

Charles Leclerc completed the most laps, 41.

Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli was 5th, 0.769s off the pace.

Practice times don't always tell the full story: teams run different fuel loads and programmes, and the order often changes once qualifying runs begin.
