F1 Pit Wall · 4 September 2026

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) set the pace in Practice 1 at the Italian Grand Prix, with a best lap of 1:23.008, 0.173s quicker than Lewis Hamilton. George Russell was third, 0.304s off the top.

Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing filled the top of the order, with the top 10 covered by 1.169s and eight drivers within a second of the fastest time.

Five of the top 10 set their best laps on the soft tyre; Leclerc (medium) and Hamilton (medium) did not, which may flatter the drivers ahead of them.

Charles Leclerc completed the most laps, 29.

Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli was 5th, 0.636s off the pace.

Practice times don't always tell the full story: teams run different fuel loads and programmes, and the order often changes once qualifying runs begin.
