George Russell (Mercedes) set the pace in Practice 1 at the Chinese Grand Prix, with a best lap of 1:32.741, 0.120s quicker than Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Lando Norris was third, 0.555s off the top.

Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari filled the top of the order, with the top 10 covered by 1.935s and five drivers within a second of the fastest time.
